Volunteer
Get Involved With Us
We have a very active core group of volunteers that help us in our mission! We need the help of volunteers to maintain the trails, run education programs, assist at events such as the Fat & Skinny Tire Fest, create content, write grants, and manage our marketing/social media accounts.
If you’ve been thinking about volunteering with us, check out our volunteer opportunities below and contact us to get started!
Communications Specialist
Do you have a passion for communicating? If so we are looking for someone who can lead our communications via different aspects of media, such as websites, print, and our various social media accounts.
Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign would be very helpful.
Fat & Skinny Tire Fest
Did you know it takes over 200 volunteers for us to pull off our largest event of the year? Think about this for a moment. If each of those volunteers worked 3 hours during the weekend that’s 75 working days smashed into four days for cycling goodness!
Plus, you’ll get a sweet volunteer shirt.
Maintain A Mile Teams
Winona Trail Force
Most people believe there are trail fairies, that maintain the mountain bike trails. These fairies pick up sticks, weed eat, and perform basic maintenance; we wish that was the case.
Unfortunately, that is not the case and it takes many volunteer hours to just maintain the mountain bike trails.
The good thing is no special skills are needed to volunteer as a part of these teams. We are looking for dedicated people to help us maintain the trails.
Grant Writers
It is always nice to have a grant writer on hand. You never know when we’ll come up with a good idea, and need some grant assistance to see it become a reality.
If you are into writing grants, have perfect spelling and grammar, and are familiar with the grant process we would love to talk to you.
Merchandise Architect & Web Store Manager
Do you want to help us push our brand through clothing and other merchandise? We are looking for someone to work closely with our vendors and develop KCV-branded clothing and products to sell online and at events.
We are looking for someone who is well-organized, has great social skills, is not afraid to learn, and is excited about our community and KCV Cycling.
Fundraising Specialist
Do you have an interest or expertise in fundraising? As we expand our programs and capabilities, we have a growing need for annual fundraising to support our activities.
Developing our donor base and managing our online fundraising presence, direct mailings, and key messages are critical components of this role.
